Steps to Register on Amazon India:

To set up a seller account on Amazon India and start selling, you’ll need to complete the seller registration process. Let’s understand it step by step.

Step-1: Visit the Registration Page:

  • To start the process, go to the Amazon seller registration page.
  • Click on the orange button on the top-right side. It shows the written text as ‘Start Selling’. You will reach ‘Amazon seller central India’.

Step 2: Create a New Account:

As you’re registering for the first time, click on Create a New Account. This will lead you to a new page where you should provide your Name, Phone no, Email, and Password having at least 6 characters. Then click on the ‘Continue’ button. You can also submit an Email ID later as it is optional.

Once you click on ‘Continue’, the next step is to verify your mobile number. Enter your mobile number and continue, you will receive an OTP (One-time password) on your mobile phone. Enter OTP and click on ‘Create your Amazon account’.

Step-3: Submit Seller Information:

  • Once your account is created you will land on a new page – ‘Register and Start Selling’.
  • Enter Name of Company or Business name, under this name you will sell on Amazon India. The same name should be registered in GST and PAN. Read the Seller Agreement and mark the checkbox. After that, click on Continue.
  • Amazon will check to verify that the account is not already registered. If it is a new account, you will reach the Seller Central Page.
  • Enter Store Name that you will appear on Amazon India so keep it unique. This will be visible to buyers of your listed products in the future. Click on verify, to check either the Store Name is available or not. If not available you will need to change it. Don’t worry, give any name to your store as you can change Store Name later.
  • Next, choose the primary product category you want to sell. You can select more categories later. Then enter Address and click on continue.
  • If you need Amazon to take care of your shipping, you can opt for Easy ship. If you are not sure at this stage, take your time, you can decide later.
  • Now Amazon will ask you to enable 2-step verification. This will add to your account security. So, click on Enable Two-Step Verification
  • After verification is set up, inside ‘Suppress OTP Challenge during Sign in’ select an option ‘Don’t require OTP on this Browser’. In this way, you can avoid providing OTP every time you sign in with this laptop/PC. Enable this option on a laptop you will be using to sign in to manage your Amazon seller account.
  • Finally, click on ‘I got it. Please turn on Two-Step Verification.

Step-4: Submit Tax Details:

Now you will provide your tax details as;

  • Enter GSTIN and PAN Number and click on Next. At this stage you skip it, however, you can’t list your products unless you have provided tax details.
  • If you want to sell in the GST Exempted Category, select that option and click on Next. Make sure a product you want to sell must lie in this category.

Step-5: Answer some questions:

You must answer the following questions to proceed.

  1. Choose Categories you wish to sell.
  2. Where do you get products from?
  3. What is your annual turnover?
  4. How many products do you sell?
  5. Do you sell on other websites?

Step-6: List your Products and add Details:

  • This is the last step of the registration process on Amazon India. Here you will list your products, therefore, submit details related to shipping charges, bank, and tax details.
  • The first part is to fill ‘Products to sell’, here you will list the products you want to sell. You can also skip it at this point.
  • Next, fill in your shipping fee details.
  • Then enter your bank account details that should be associated with Amazon. Payments will be received by your bank.
  • Now enter your tax details (PAN and GST) if you didn’t enter them before.
  • The Product Tax Code (PTC) is the GST applicable on products you want to sell. Select PTC on products accordingly.
  • The final step is to upload a scanned copy of your signature. This will be pasted on the invoices that are sent to the customers.
  • After this, click on Launch Your Business. That’s it. You will be directed to Amazon Seller Central Dashboard. 

Step-7: Start Selling on Amazon India:

This is where you take advantage of all your above effort. You reached your Amazon Seller Central Dashboard. Here you take control of your Amazon seller account. Now whenever you log in to your account, you will see this Dashboard. This area will give you many types of useful information like order and payment summary, performance reports, sales summary, promotions and offers, and stuff like that. You can also control your product listing, ads, and pricing, etc.  

The Customer Sees and Buys your Products:

As your products are listed on Amazon India, they will reach millions of potential customers and businesses every day. Your products can be sold through the Amazon India website. To target customers relevant to your listed products you can advertise on Amazon to offer sponsored products.

Deliver your Products to the Customer:

When an order is placed on one of your listed products, Amazon notifies you in your Seller Central Dashboard as well as by email. Now there are some options through which your product can deliver, which are Easy ship, Self-ship, and FBA (Fulfilment by Amazon). You can choose one for them.

Receive your Payment:

Once the product is delivered, payment for your sales will be deposited into your bank every 7 days. The delivery charges and Amazon Seller fees will be deducted. You can see all deposited balances from Dashboard.
